About Milton Abbas SurgeryThe medical practice in Milton Abbas is situated at the top of the beautiful Dorset Village of the same name. At 700 feet above sea level, it is near Bulbarrow Hill, the highest point in Dorset. The village itself was planned by the famous landscaper 'Capability Brown'.
The Milton Abbas Surgery is a rural practice and serves an area with a radius of 12 miles. The practice has about three and a half thousand patients.
At the practice we provide as many services for our patients as is appropriate and reasonable. These include general medical care, travel advice, immunisations and chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma, chronic lung and and heart disease. We are also able to provide physiotherapy, chiropody and counselling on-site.
We are a dispensing practice which means that your medicines can be collected at the surgery.
If hospital care is required, most patients are referred to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, though some may choose to go to Poole, Bournemouth or further afield for their treatment. We also work closely with Blandford Community Hospital in Blandford Forum.
