Practice Information | volunteer services We have a 'Friends of the Practice' Organiser, Sue Brazier, based at the Surgery (shared with Cerne Abbas and Puddletown). This is a volunteer service which provides transport for patients to the surgery, support for carers and cared for, and for the prescription delivery service mentioned above.
We have a Patient Participation Group (PPG) which meets regularly and distributes a newsletter to each patient household twice a year. The PPG feed back views on services and actively fund raise to provide the latest equipment for use at the surgery or in the home so that patients do not have to wait for availability via the hospital. PPG funding has enabled patients to benefit from high tech monitoring equipment eg 24 hour blood pressure cuff and 24 hour ECG monitor as well as defibrillators, nebulisers an hyfrecator, a Doppler, an air mattress, pulseoxometer, 2 ECGs and an electric couch.
