Clinics

Clinics & Services

To all our patients we provide medical services led by the GPs and the integrated Primary Care Nurse Team. We offer as much extended care as is appropriate and feasible. Examples of extended services provided from the Practice are:

  • joint injections
  • acute pain management
  • ‘one stop’ warfarin monitoring

Regular clinics include CHD, Hypertension, Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Spirometry, and Stroke/TIA reviews.

Minor surgery is also undertaken at our Milborne St Andrew branch site.

Cervical Screening

Cervical screening at Milton Abbas Surgery is carried out by three very friendly and experienced nurses, and we have flexible appointments available throughout the week, up to 5.40pm on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday mornings from 9 - 10am.

If you have any concerns that you would like to talk through before your screening appointment or if you have had a previous bad experience that has left you worried about attending again, please ring the surgery on 01258 880210 and ask for Marrianne, Bev or Hannah who would be very happy to call you back.

MSK Practitioners

Do you have a bone, muscle or joint problem?

You can now see a specialist MSK practitioner here instead of the GP. This gives you faster access to expert diagnosis and you will leave with the advice you need to start tackling the problem. MSK practitioners can also refer you on to hospital services where necessary and order tests.

Kerry works with us on a Wednesday. Please speak to one of our receptionists to book an appointment.

Midwives

Hospital and community midwives have been specially trained to care for mothers and babies throughout pregnancy, labour and birth.

We no longer have midwives who visit the surgery.

If you have recently found out you are pregnant, you can complete a self-referral form to inform the midwives and start receiving the necessary support by going to www.maternitymattersdorset.nhs.uk.
